I'm exhausted!

I joined the Swing Dance Club at Purdue also known as "Night Train". It's great and includes lessons as well as Wednesday Night Jams which I will be leaving shortly for. Usually Wednesday nights I dance for about three hours till they close and my foot has blisters on it. Last week I had the added surprise of waking up to my calves cramping up in the morning. That has to go down in my book as one of my least favorite ways to wake up. However, totally worth it. It's fun, it's good exercise, I'm meeting many new people, and it is a great stress relief. Classes are going well. We just got into our observation classrooms this week and I am at Wea Ridge Elementary. I am going home to visit my sister this weekend since she will be home from out of town. I walked by a mirror tonight after my night class and was a little shocked at how deep the bags under my eyes look. I will catch up on sleep soon though. Anyways, the apartment is good, things are good and yeah. I just wish it was warmer right now but soon enough! The groundhog lies anyways.

And I say heyyyyyyyyy

Hello! Tuesday will find me in Valparaiso! Early reports are starting to trickle in from my spies and this semester is looking quite favorable. I uploaded all my education files into my online portfolio that I had to do. Monday I have to show up sometime to turn in my final notebook and portfolio. Tuesday I have to take my health final and retrieve my art project. Then I am off! Sold back my books today and got a good chunk of my xmas shopping done. Might go to the mall later this evening to finish it up and to pick up batteries and ink cartridges.

MUSIC ALERT: DANKO JONES

Started listening to this band. Its heavy rock with some Blues fusion. It hits pretty hard and its been able to keep my energy level up for the end of the semester. Sometimes explicit, always loud, but very fun. Some of my favorites include "Dance", "Baby Hates Me", "Lovercall", and "Play the Blues". You can sample most of their stuff on youtube, though not all their songs have music videos, you should be able to find songs for them.

Today, I went into work early and worked for awhile and stayed then for the Leadership Lunch which our awesome bosses put on for us, they got food from Noodle Company. Then I went to sell my books. The guy scanned one of my books, saw it was worth much money, then proceeded to check it almost page for page for marks or tears. I was ready to grab his collar and yank him over the counter. It was just irritating. They already rip you off enough with trade in values, but it felt depreciating. He then looked up and was like,
"Did you touch this book at all this semester?"
"Yesssss."
"You didn't have to tear out any pages to use?"
"No... The book isn't a workbook, the pages aren't even perforated."

I think he sensed how annoyed I was because he picked up the pace for the rest of my books. He also shot a dirty look at the ecampus sticker that was on my art book (I had ordered it to save a little money) but i wasn't going to take no for an answer on that art book. Then I went on a magical xmas shopping journey for family.

Not much else new, everyone please have a great xmas and safe travels!

Really? I like this song? Sighhh....

You ever crave a certain song and dance all over your house/apartment to said song? However you know you really shouldn't like the song and are ashamed you like it? Well I blame the Elite Beat Agents
This fun music rhythm game for the DS exposed me couple years ago to La La by Ashlee Simpson... Well I havent played this game in a long time, and I gave my games and DS to Kyle, but I found my self craving this song. Soo... Itunes sometimes makes thing TOO easy. I would never buy an entire Ashlee Simpson album and be spared the humiliation... But nope, I can get the one song and feed my craving. So I have been rocking out all around the apartment to La La. I am very excited to go home. Valpo bound Tuesday the 16th. Prepare your selfs for those who live in Valparaiso. I debated linking La La for you, but no. Im not going to spread this disease. It's a bad song that I like. If your that interested, search for it your selfs. Save your selfs and don't!

This weekend was productive. There is just some small fry stuff here and there, last couple paragraphs to type and such. I smashed through Monday's work and took out several battallions worth of Tuesdays work. Everything is going according to plan. I make my retreat for now. Good luck and farewell.

Chemical mixing?!

So it's that time of year again! We are closing in on the last couple weeks of class for winter semester! I was up till 2:30 am last night working on report that I turned in today. I was actually quite proud of that report and interested to see the feedback I get on it. In other news, I am not so proud of my extreme measures I took to stay alive today. that would include...

this that I took last night (this morning) to get some sleep

Followed by this 3.5 hours later on my way to school to wake up.

Either or is fine and does not make me feel shameful. But going to bed with nyquil and then jump starting my self with an energy drink after only less than four hours of sleep? Not good. It shortwires my system. This is the type of thing I made fun of the freshman engineering students for doing my freshman year.. Darn you Karma... Everything comes full circle I suppose. So I could tell yesterday, but I have a slight head cold. I am surviving though. Just a pain.

Been watching a show that airs online with small webisodes called "The Guild" watchable at www.watchtheguild.com It's about a group of socially inept people who play an online game. Although they never directly state it, it's assumed to be World of Warcraft. It's quite entertaining and reminds me of my days when I (was/am/wish i could go back) addicted to Final Fantasy 11 Online. If any of you have seen Dr. Horrible, The Guild is written by Felicia Day who played Penny in Dr. Horrible. She is also the main star.

Looking forward to a pretty quiet weekend. Relaxing some, hanging out with friends, and putting the final touches on a few last projects here and there. Everyone take care!

Happy Turkey Day

Happy Turkey Day everyone! Mine went very well. I am at home with my parents. We had much good food. I am not going to post pictures because of two reasons. I'm on my dad's laptop and ok no thats not the excuse. I'm lazy. OOO alright, fine fine, but don't say I never did anything for you guys. I give you.... Special free costume for Little Big Planet this week. The magical mysterious turkey head! Ok so after some extensive (lazy) searching through google images couldn't find it.. Soooo I'm watching this show on hrrmmm eyeball.... CBS!!! it's callllllled "The Eleventh Hour" and here's a picture! (PS- you guys are so lucky, i had to go back and download this and upload it, because it had been blocked for hotlinking it. So i am taking away my lazy card until further notice!)

It's pretty good. It's almost like Bones reversed. The girl is tough as nails top level body guard, and the guy is a scientist who is assigned to investigate crimes of scientific nature. The series plays a little more serious then Bones, but I still recommend watching an episode or two.

Watched the first two Transporter movies, prepping my parents to go see the new third one for a saturday matinee show. I know i know! Many of you are saying what!? You werent in the theater to see Jason's new movie at first possible chance? Well I am going with a several other people to make Jason more money so hopefully he will forgive me. Not much else new. Will be leaving Valpo probably sometime Sunday early afternoon. Hope everyone is enjoying break. Take care.

Yay!

Well this was a nice calming weekend, before I have to go back for one brutal class before I get to skip away happily home. Friday was a pretty quiet night. Stayed in, played some video games with Zosso online. The 8 player cooperative in Resistance 2 is pretty amazing, and the 60 match competitive is also enthralling considering in the past, most maps have had a limit of 30-40 tops.

Yesterday (Saturday) I took a friend out to breakfast/lunch at IHOPS for their birthday. Also I did some homework and in the evening I went to the belly dancing show to see a friend who was performing.. I went with a good friend of mine and unexpectedly ran into other good friends! It was a grand time! Also being reminiscent of last year's show where I played the sultan I found this youtube clip... I can never run for president..... or sultan..

After the show went to Love Shack for a calzone with my friend and then we went back to his apartment and watched Star Trek Nemesis. Interesting end to Next Generation. It's a very nature vs nurture type of movie. Enough humor and action like the Star Trek movies. Interested to see the new movie. Here's the trailer link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmJO3ppLBsk

Today is just a mix of homework, eating, and packing. Let the games begin!

Friday!

How much you think all that food weighs? If you guessed about 1293 pounds of food your a pretty good guesser. Guess who got to help move it from the Telefund basement in Harrison hall, to a van, to Stewart Center, and then into a truck parked outside Stewart center? Thats right! Me! The Telefund has been participating in the food drive for last couple weeks and that corner of our basement office has been getting more and more crammed with food. Few days back my boss asked me to box up allot of the random goods. And then we got more. Today was time to deliver it. What helped with this amazing accomplishment was that the callers were offered a paid minute of work for each individual item they brought in. This included Ramen packets and Koolaid packets. Callers have 4 hour shifts. You bring in 240 items, you get a free shift. With koolade and ramen, this is actually price efficient. (Specially if you are buying from Aldi's or non brandname) (Yes there is generic brand ramen. I was amazed) This was allot of fun taking it to the truck, where they told my boss and I that it was the most they had recieved thus far.

Apparently my good citizen level is through the roof. Getting food out to hungry? Check. Yesterday, donating blood? Check. I highly encourage everyone to donate if you can. IT SAVES LIVES! It's always allot of fun for me. Go, get stuck, lay in relaxing chair for a bit, bop my knee to the music they playing, get unstuck, bandaged and free food and drink. I got a nice tshirt too! My favorite predonating question is when they ask to see both your arms up to your elbows. I swear I'm not a heroin addict, see! No needle marks! Yay for me! Well.. Now I have one needle mark. But that's from donating blood. The American Red Cross was here exactly 2 months ago to the day and when I gave asked if I would give again in two months. I said sure. Well man did they ever mean it. Three phone calls later thanking me for my donation and reminding me of when they would be here again, I was sure not to forget the date. No side effects or weakness. In the past I've felt maybe a lil tired or (drained... haha!) but it seems like I am giving so regularly now that my body is getting used to it.

So main points of today's post, donate to hungry if you can, donate blood to people bleeding if you can, and my good citizen level is currently through the roof. Now if I could just save some poor puppies or something.
